Getting Started:
The getting started portion of the website explains how it works.Net Calories = Calories Consumed - Calories Burned Through Exercise
The more you exercise, the more you can eat!
It also explains the various tabs at the top. "My Home" gives you a snapshot of your daily net calorie target. "My Goals" tells you the details about your goals and you can customize or change your goals by clicking sub-menus "Change Goals" or "Custom Goals".
Getting Started also explains how the food diary works, also the exercise log, and how the message boards work. Message boards are used to "get support and motivation, learn fitness and diet tips, meet new people, and have fun!".
I have visited the message boards, met some of the people, and introduced myself. I have accepted classmate Christy's friend request and sent her a note, and another woman (someone I don't know) has invited me to be her "friend". I have accepted her invitation.
I have used the food diary and it's really fun and easy!
You simply search for the foods you've eaten and it finds them for you and displays how many calories they contain, also fat, carbohydrates, and protein. It subtracts what you consume from your daily allowance (based upon the data you've provided about your height, weight, age, and activity level). So far, it's found everything I've eaten; from weight loss shakes I purchased at Costco, to the kind of bread in my kitchen, to the kind of juice I drink (the exact brands).Help Section:
The help section starts by asking which version you need help with and gives you the choice of various types of Smart phones and IPads in addition to the Web. It has categories for many topics including; General, Goals & Check In, Forums & Blogs, Profile, Friends, Mail, Privacy, and Fit Bit Integration. I didn't know what Fit Bit Integration was so I searched the help topic and learned that it's a wireless activity tracker that you can purchase and integrate into your MyFitnesspal. It tracks your calories burned, steps taken & stairs climbed, and keeps track of all of your daily activity. This is my progress so far because I haven't entered any exercise. I'm on my second day of tracking my food intake.

I love how easy signing up for MyFitnessPal was! From your posts on the Moodle forum I decided to join. I find it's such an effective site because they make it so easy to navigate and understand and enter exercise or food quickly when you might not have a lot of time. Hope you have fun with it for your final. :D
