Members find things they have in common and socialize based upon their common interests.
You can form your own group. I'm planning to find out how many different groups I might belong to based upon my interests and goals. I was surprised to find a "short people" group. I'm thinking about starting a group of my own; perhaps people who live in Washington, people from the Northwest, or maybe something even more specific "people who love cats". That doesn't seem like a common interest that people wanting to lose weight would necessarily share, but what I've learned so far is that it doesn't matter what the interest or goal is. People just want encouragement from each other.
Counting Calories:
I have been doing the calorie count (food logs) for several days and it's interesting to learn the calorie counts, carbohydrate, fat, and protein content of various foods. One day I hardly ate anything at all because I was busy with homework, but consumed several liquids containing calories, sugar, and protein (milk, lemonade, and orange juice) and was surprised that I went over my daily calorie allotment!
Based upon my height, weight, and age, I'm allowed 1,340 calores per day.
Here is my Daily Summary for today:
My Daily Summary
Too funny...I too might have to join that group "Short People." I thought it might be interesting too to try and connect with those in our area. Might be fun to challenge each other or maybe even walk together! I also was surprised to find out how many hidden calories are in the things we drink. I consider myself lucky in this aspect mainly because I don't drink soda very often. In fact, I just usually stick to water, my one cup of coffee in the am, and my one glass of Orange juice a day.
ReplyDeleteGlad we were finally able to get the kinks worked out and become friends on My Fitness pal! I am looking forward to motivating each other along our journey.
