May the Force be with me....

Hello to everyone again,

For this week, and this past weekend, I have actually had some fun social interaction with not only people I know who play the game, but I have also made friends with a couple guild-mates in order to further my understanding of the social culture within the Star Wars MMO universe. It seems that in the week that I have been playing the game and interacting with others, I am finding that the people that play this game are absolutely insane when it comes to modifications and issues that they have with the game and BioWare respectively. Each person I talk to has multiple ideas that would make the game better and I can't say that I don't agree. For instance, I continually hear from guild-mates that the game needs a "guild ship" in which your guild members can board and you can have guild specific vendors and guild quests and also ways for a guild to rally everyone when they do end game raiding.

End game raiding for this game at the moment takes place at level 50 and I can't wait to do it as from what I hear is a lot of fun and really changes to whole dynamic of the game and the entire grind to level 50. When I talk about a grind to level 50, this is not an exaggeration. After I reached level 12 or 13, the game really started to slow down the leveling. I have played games that take a while to get to the end, but I feel like within this game and with talking with other guild members, with the amount of time that I have to play the game because of school, I don't believe I will reach level 50 by the end of the quarter. I would have to dedicate a couple hours a day to the game, and with having a two year old child and college work to do, it seems very implausible.

As implausible as reaching level 50 is at this point is, I can say the game does breed social interaction through the ability to gain "social points" while playing with someone else in your party. Normally I would stick to just soloing within a game, but even though I am being "forced" in to being social, I also have a draw of my own to gain social points in order to get gear that is associated with your social points and your overall social level.

All in all the game is very well crafted to breed social interaction, yet with any MMO the work is never really done. The community that I have been interacting with is very vocal, and very driven to have the things they are clamoring for be put into the game.

Now I leave you with a merchant selling his wares...

Til' Next week...
