Communication on Pinterest

This week I started off by adding the “pin it” button to my bookmark toolbar. With the addition of this tool I can now “pin” photos/and or web pages I like and by pinning it with the pin it button it gives the original poster the credit by linking the photo to the original web page it came from.

The next thing I did was go to my settings and remove my pins from being linked with my Facebook account because I wanted to experiment with Pinterest with out all of my friends on Facebook seeing what I was doing. I might change it back later but for now I’m going to keep it private. After I saved the changes it took me back to my home page and after looking around it a bit it said I was following 116 people somehow… so I clicked on the area and I decided to unfollow people I did not know.because I did not want them knowing things that I liked, it's none of their business. lol :)

Under my profile picture there was a place to enter a description about my self, but before I filled anything in I wanted to see if anyone else I knew had posted information there and what kind of things they put there to describe themselves. So either I can not see what my friends are saying about them selves or no one is posting a description of them selves. So I guess I won’t either for now… lol.

I’m also realizing as I look through the things my friends have either pinned or liked, that you can comment on ANY thing someone has pinned. I thought it would be a little more private than that. I want to pin something and have a friend comment on it to see if I can have control over what the comments are, and if I can delete any comments I do not like. Also when you pin something you can write your own comment on it about why you like it or what you want to do with it.

Here is a picture of the very first thing that I pinned on Pinterest!!

It is very time consuming just looking around at what people have liked or pinned and seeing what kinds of things I like as well. I over heard some friends at work today talking about how someone had left rude comments to them on Pinterest after a comment they had posted. I thought this was very strange because until today I did not know you could comment on photos ot things that are pinned. This really got me thinking about how people can talk to one another on Pinterest and was glad we had to blog about communication this week, because I was able to actually learn something about how to comment on things.

  1. I am just realizing that my posts are coming from my personal blog name of jladybugprincess... Um, I hope that is ok and that I am still getting credit for posting?
