Conduct an interview with a member of your community who has been a member
for at least 6 months. Ask them 5-8 questions and share the answers on your
blog post for this week. The questions should be geared toward their experience
with the community/service.
Twitter thus far for me has proved to be rather unfruitful. I really don't
have a need to sort through meaningless chatter from other members about how
Chicago pizza tastes much better than New York style pizza. The major asset
that I have gained from this project thus far is that I am able to get current
up to the date news from around the World.
For this week's assignment I decided to ask Jennifer Campbell @Jennife91302946 five questions regarding her personal
experience with twitter. all of the blogs that I currently subscribe to are
either celebrities blogs, or the members haven't subscribed to the blog for six
months or longer. Jennifer has been a member for about five months.
Question#1: What has been your overall experience with
Twitter, and have you found it to be a useful form of social media.
Answer: Twitter has had its advantages in that I'm able
to communicate with loved ones that I haven't seen for a few years or so. As
for usefulness I haven't found twitter to be a useful as say face book, or
other forms of social media. This is primarily due to most of my friends and
family not having Twitter accounts.
Question#2: Have you had any personal struggles with the
Twitter community, or service.
Answer: the one struggle that I have had with Twitter
is its overall ease of use. I have gone into update, or change information only
to find that Twitter had not saved any of the changes that I had made.
Question#3: Have you utilized any of the applications
that Twitter provides, and if so which ones.
Answer: The one application that I have used is
Seesmic, which is a web application that browses my other social networks, and
searches for others who use twitter.
Question#4: Would you recommend Twitter to others.
Answer: I would only recommend Twitter to others who
have an extensive number of friends, or family whom subscribe to Twitter.
Question#5: I have found that Twitter is great for
obtaining up to the date news from around the World, do you currently subscribe
to breaking news, or any other blogs which provide up to the date news.
Answer: The only blog that I subscribe to for news is
the Associated Press, and most of the time I can receive news from around the
World quicker through traditional media.
I still have had no desire myself to join Twitter after reading your journey with it during this assignment. I too don't have a need for the meaningless chatter. =)
ReplyDeleteAfter this class is over, I will still not have a Twitter account. If people I know need to chat with me they can either get hold of me on Facebook (which is more user friendly for my family with their technology skills), phone, or email. I still don't understand why so many people need to know what movie stars are eating etc.
Great interview. You gave some good questions.
